1. The provider of this site

elegian.net is operated by Elegian Oy. By using the site you accept these terms.

2. This site is information, not advice

Everything on this website is general information about our services. It is not accounting, tax, legal or investment advice, it is not an audit opinion, and it must not be relied on in place of advice about your own circumstances. No client relationship arises from reading this site, submitting a form, or receiving a reply to an enquiry.

Advice is given only under a signed written engagement letter that sets out the scope, the responsibilities of each party and the fee.

3. The statutory scope estimator

The estimator applies published Finnish statutory thresholds to figures you enter. It is indicative only. It does not determine your legal position, it does not estimate tax payable, it does not estimate any saving, and it is not a quotation or an offer of service. Thresholds change; the review date shown beside the tool is the date we last checked them. Confirm your position with us or with the Finnish Tax Administration before acting on anything it shows.

4. What we do and do not provide

Elegian Oy provides business-to-business accounting, bookkeeping, corporate tax compliance and advisory, payroll administration, and management and business consulting.

We do not provide:

• statutory audit services — under the Finnish Auditing Act a statutory audit must be performed by an independent authorised auditor, and a firm keeping a company’s books cannot issue that company’s audit opinion;
• investment advice or any regulated financial product or service;
• legal representation before a court or tribunal;
• personal tax services for private individuals;
• arrangements whose main purpose is to obtain a tax advantage contrary to the object of the law. We will decline such instructions.

5. No guaranteed outcome

We do not guarantee any financial, tax or commercial outcome, and nothing on this site should be read as promising a saving, a refund, a rate or a result. Where we describe what the law requires, we describe the requirement — not a promise of how a particular authority will decide a particular case.

6. Your responsibilities as a client

Our work depends on the completeness and accuracy of what you give us. You remain responsible for the underlying records, for approving filings before they are submitted, and for informing us of anything that affects your accounting or tax position. We are not liable for consequences arising from information withheld from us or supplied inaccurately.

7. Liability

To the extent permitted by Finnish law, our liability arising from an engagement is limited as set out in that engagement letter. Nothing in these terms limits liability for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

We give no warranty that this website will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on general information published here.

8. Intellectual property

The text, design, code and graphics on this site belong to Elegian Oy unless stated otherwise. You may read, print and quote from it with attribution; you may not republish it as your own or use it commercially without written permission.

9. Links to other sites

Where we link to a public register or an authority, we do so to let you verify what we say. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content.

10. Privacy

Personal data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by Finnish law. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the District Court of Etelä-Savo, Finland, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
